Riley Mcferrin is a San Francisco- and Vancouver-based designer ,builder and artist who constructs paintings, sculptures, and site-specific installations
His most recent fine art work
depicts encounters between nature, man and machine. Made of wood, rusted metal, rope, live grass, resins and many other textures and materials, his work create spaces and situations that encourage the viewer to confront their relationship with nature. In a culture that grows increasingly disconnected from natural resources, his work nostalgically admires hand production and the simple relationship with the natural world, while simultaneously questioning whether its even possible to make it simple again.
